Fruits planted by farmers quickly reach the end of the scale when all needs have been satisfied and the need for another rambutan is zero. (Western Economics Theory)

If only we have the same ways the Westerners have in bottling their fruits (e.g. jam and pickles) . But we don't have a winter when nothing can be grown. So we have food the whole year through and lots go to waste.

Is that a blessing or is that a pitiful and unsurmountable situation? Dabai at its peak is 5 ringgit a kilo.

Years ago when I was so sick and wanting to eat some dabai - it was 28 ringgit in Miri....and every one snatched them up. My gentle daughter was no match for them. At that time I felt that just one fruit of dabai was heavenly. And for the whole season I did not have any. Now I always have at least two kilo frozen in the freezer for visitors throughout the year...eating them a few at a time.

Many people in Sarawak have too good days by the look of it. Too much always.

Yes, Chanyi,
We like fruits, all kind of fruits, but sometimes we like so much on specific fruit......
Anyway fruits really make people happy and satisfy esp after a makan.

不如在農產時期開放農場,每人收入場費,可自行採果子(當然只有那些熟的啦)!然後可以七折離場;亦可限定每人最多可帶多少水果離產...皆大歡喜啊!

That's an excellent idea. But the farmers need to work out the profit margin and other calculated risks before opening the farm to pick eat and pay system. Hope that our people are up to the standard.
