Looks like the debris is floating and drifting in deeper waters of the Igan...thus saving Bintangor and Sarikei!! Am I right?

Don't cry for me Ulu Kapit
The truth is I never love you
All through my many years
My only dream
I hold on to the power
Don't keep your distance

And as for these logs, and also the debris
I never thought they could escape
Though it seemed to the world they were all my fault

They are free gifts
They are the building materials for folks in my constituency
The answer to their prayers at this time
I need you and hope you vote me

So, dry your tears Ulu Kapit

Well done B. Moth of Kuching!!

I must say a natural disaster has saved Sarikei and Bintangor and even Tanjong Manis from another natural disaster!!

The chess game of natural disaster is getting very interesting. Where and when Checkmate?

Water in the river
Slow and lovely
Boats sail on water
Nice and steady
Fishes swim in water
Leisurely and safe

Now water turns muddy
Logs dragging down river often
Spoiling the banks
River bed becomes shadow
Muddy water overflows
Seasonal floods occur
Discarded logs can't wait longer...

Let's rush down stream
Rush to South China Sea
Nobody is to say no
We are discarded logs
Flowing is our right
Whatever hinder us shall suffer...

The deadwood likely followed the path of least resistance - i.e. the faster flowing Igan River vs the slower and wider Rejang River heading towards Tanjung Manis...thus saving Bintangor, Sarikei and Tj Manis from this.

Sarikeian group on facebook has featured this post of yours.

http://www.civil.columbia.edu/ling/morakot/
